Entry #10: Egypt

Who doesn't want to visit the pyramids? One of my good friends from when I was young is from Egypt and I have always wanted to go! When I lived in England, we studied Ancient Egypt and it was so fascinating.

As you can guess, the main reason why I want to visit Egypt is to go see all the ancient monuments discovered. Also as my family used to watch the mummy every other Saturday night when we were little, I feel in love with the desert and the history.

I have already ridden a horse and a donkey so why not add to the animals and ride a camel too! Last year the World Championship for Lifesaving was in Egypt and some of my friends attended but I wasn't quite involved with the sport like I am now. I hope I get to go there soon!

Next week will be the last week I am posting on my blog before exams! I'm going to think of a really cool place that hopefully you guys will want to visit as well!

Entry #9: Chile

In this entry, I am going to talk about how I want to visit Chile, mainly the Lakes and Volcanoes Region. This region in the heart of Chile has 10 volcanoes, many lakes, white water rivers, and also many national parks and reserves. With research, I have found that there are many activities in this region as well as regions surrounding. There are some hot springs to bathe in, rain forests to zip-line over, rivers to raft in, hike on the glacier volcanoes.

Have you been to Chile? I don't think I know anyone who has visited Chile so it would be interesting to hear some experiences that people have had. I hadn't really been interested in going Chile to recently when I found out about all the activities you can take part in. I really believe that this could be the ultimate trip. It looks phenomenal and the picture to the right demonstrates how beautiful it is. I have been to some hot springs before in Greece but I was too young to appreciate it and remember it. Chiles coastline is the 5th largest in the world meaning that there would be wicked beaches.

I also can't forget to mention the food. I love trying new food from different cultures. Most of the popular dishes tend to include some meat or seafood and I would be willing to try anything.

I have many ideas for my next entry so stay tuned as I will update it shortly!

Entry #8: Germany and Hungary

Growing up in England, I had the opportunity to travel around Europe and see many of the popular sites, but I never had the chance to visit Germany. I think Germany is a really intriguing place, especially with all the history that lies there from the past 100 years. Since many of my family members in the past few generations have been affected by the World Wars, I want to go visit the concentration camps and other historical sites in Germany to see what they went through.

Not only can I visit many places over Germany, I can also head over to Sweden and the other close countries where I can check off more places on my bucket list. This past December, my mother, grandfather and aunt went to Hungary and Germany. They came back with many stories to tell and nothing but good reviews. My family originated partially from hungary which really makes me want to go visit. I still have family members over there and there are many hungarian foods and traditions that we celebrate in our own home. Europe is so beautiful and the top of my bucket list is to visit all the countries in Europe and luckily, I have already made a great start!

Entry #7: Utah

Snowbird Ski Resort
At the Little Cottonwood Canyon, Utah, there are two resorts with mountains for snow sports. This winter, I began snowboarding and now I am very interested in snowboarding on different mountains. These two resorts are less than a mile apart but they are very different in character. At the Snowbird resort, it is very family oriented and fun for snowboarding. However, at the Alta mountain, it is more of a traditional skiers mountain.

Alta Ski Resort
I really want to go to the Snowbird mountain especially because it is preferred for snowboarders and since I just started, I'm not that good. I think I'm so interested in snowboarding because my friends and I make it very social and interactive. We always bring different people along and we go down the hill as a group instead of speeding down repeatedly. I wish more of my friends would want to learn so that we could go away to some pretty cool resorts around the world. Either way, I will go to these places and have a time of my life!

With all the travels to warm countries that I am planning on doing, I will need a nice break from the heat and I will have to come snowboard at these beautiful places. There has to be other things to do in Utah as well, right?
